Chris Cooke is a journalist, editor, publisher and communicator. He is also Managing Director of UnLimited Media, a content, communication and consulting company he founded in 1996.
- Graduated with an MA in English Language from Edinburgh University in 1997. During his time there launched his first media, Edinburgh Festival newspaper ThreeWeeks.
- While growing UnLimited Media in the late 1990s, spent two years working as a freelance communications consultant, specialising in internal comms, and authoring benchmark reports on best practice communications involving the likes of BBC, BT, BP, HP, Natwest, Shell, Tesco, Whitbread, McDonalds, Swiss Re and Royal Mail.
- Since 2000 has worked full-time as MD of UnLimited, which now owns four media, and operates creative services, training and consulting divisions, providing content, communication and business services to entertainment, media and consumer brands, and corporate clients.
- As a journalist, writes daily about developments in the media, entertainment and communications industries for his own publications, and regularly comments on these sectors for others, especially the BBC.
- As a trainer, teaches best practice and current trends in the media, entertainment and communication industries, leads skills-development programmes for creative students at universities around the UK, and runs media components of the acclaimed Brunswick Internship Programme.
- Recently completed a part time Law degree at London Metropolitan University, specialising in media and intellectual property law.
Chris is a leading expert on the media, entertainment and communications industries, with unique insights into how each of these sectors work on both a creative and commercial level, and how they interrelate. Having developed numerous digital-based media and marketing channels, he also understands how the internet can be used as a communication and business tool, and how the world wide web is impacting on his industries.
